This past week I had the opportunity to take a “hard hat” tour of The Vue condos and lofts in Uptown Charlotte. They are about one month from receiving their C.O. (certificate of occupancy) that will allow them to start having buyers close on the condos. This video is of the building, their amenity deck (pool, gym, sport court, etc.) and one of the loft style condos.

If you are a “do-it-yourselfer” and want to do some research before talking to your Realtor, follow these steps:

Click on the “Research” link associated with that property
Next click on “Market Check”

This sequence of steps will give you the address, sale price, and sale date of the most recent neighborhood sales. The “Market Check” tool will also map the properties automatically so that you can see where the sold properties are located in relation to the property you are researching.

So far, I’ve reviewed Laurel Market and Prices Chicken Coop in this series, but they are both located just outside of Uptown Charlotte, in Southend. Today, I’m moving to the heart of Fourth Ward with Alexander Michael’s.

This small restaurant is literally in the middle of historic Fourth Ward. I think its charm is both where it is located and also the old building that houses it. Its surrounded by old, historic houses and the new Fourth Ward Playground. I’ll let you discover what you like best when you go, but one of my favorite appetizers on the menu is the “Fried Pickles” that are served with ranch dipping sauce.

This past Thursday evening, I attended a V.I.P. Hard Hat Realtor tour in The Vue. I was one of only about six Realtors that got this special preview. It was a lot of fun to get to go up in the construction elevator and walk through The Vue, even if we were only four stories up! The pictures above are of the building in its current state and also of the model home unit that I toured. Here are some quick details on the only currently completed model home (residence #401):

Even though the building is still under construction, Allen Owens of The Lavish Palm Designs has done a terrific job of making the model home feel like a real home. I’m excited to see what Allen does with the remaining model homes and common space, which he will also be designing.

The Garrison at Graham condos in Fourth Ward, Uptown Charlotte, are really starting to move along. In the picture above, you can see that the windows are already installed, so the outside shell is almost complete.

Condos in The Garrison at Graham will be two level lofts with high-end finishes including hardwood floors and designer kitchens, while still keeping an industrial feel with exposed ductwork.

Avenue Market is finally open in Avenue Condominiums. Residing in roughly 1240 square feet on N. Church St., Avenue Market carries various convenience store items including sandwiches, beer, wine.
