Freedom Park is a favorite of most residents of Charlotte. Especially those living in the Dilworth and Myers Park, which adjoin Freedom Park. The weather has been awesome lately, so I took the opportunity to create a short timelapse video of Freedom Park.
This condo has just been reduced in price to $179,900. For a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in the heart of Dilworth, this is an absolute steal! Come take a closer look at it this Saturday, September 25th, from 2 to 4 p.m.
This roomy two bedroom, two bath condo in the heart of Dilworth has an ideal location. Easily walk to shops/bars/restaurants on East Blvd, Metropolitan (home to Trader Joes, West Elm, Target, Best Buy and more), Carolina’s Medical Center, and Latta Park. The split bedroom layout of this condo sets the two bedrooms on opposite sides of the condo; perfect for roommate situations or guests. Gleaming hardwoods run throughout the kitchen, dining, and great rooms. Best of all, the condo is ready for you to move right in. It includes all the appliances you would normally need to buy in your first home (washer/dryer, refrigerator, etc.) Competitively priced for a quick sale and great deal in Dilworth.

I was thinking the other day about how many people are really surprised when they hear that I am a native of Charlotte because there are so few natives. So, I decided it might be fun and useful to share with my blog followers about some restaurants in and around uptown Charlotte that are a little off the beaten path.
I’ll be posting new ones every few days, but if you know of one you might like for me to mention, post a comment or send me an email.
The first establishment I want to share with you is Laurel Market. I’m not sure if it actually qualifies as a restaurant because it doesn’t really have any seating other than some outdoor patio tables that are self-serve. However, the food here is great! There are actually two Laurel Markets near Uptown Charlotte. The one pictured above is located at 114 Cherokee Rd. Their second location is actually closer to uptown Charlotte at 1515 South Blvd.
The reason to visit Laurel Market is for one of their freshly made sandwiches. Being a southerner, I love pimento cheese. A sandwich called the “Uber Pimento” is my favorite. Its turkey, pimento cheese, shredded lettuce and sliced bell pepper. Pimento Cheese and turkey may not be your cup of tea, but they have plenty of other healthy sandwiches to choose from as well.
I think one of the best features of Laurel Market is their unassuming interior and exterior. The location on Cherokee is an old 7 Eleven that was converted. The location on South Blvd is a former dry cleaner building. Don’t let the exterior fool you though. The sandwiches are GREAT!
What do you think? Have you been to Laurel Market? Let me hear your opinion!
Whether you are in a condo, townhome, or even home in Uptown Charlotte or one of the many neighborhoods close to Uptown, chances are that you don’t have much space for plants or gardening. Enter Campbell’s Greenhouse & Nursery in the heart of Southend/Dilworth. Its located at 209 McDonald Avenue. While they do have a large and diverse selection of bonsai plants and orchids, they also have a wide range of potted flowers to help brighten the darkest patios and porches! Adding colorful flowers is one of the best ways to make your home more inviting whether or not it is for sale.
My mom took me to Campbell’s as a kid to help her pick up flowers for our house in Plaza Midwood. It hasn’t changed much over the years, but that is definitely a good thing.
