Novare Group announced this past week two of the tenants to occupy the street level retail of its first residential high-rise in Charlotte, the Avenue. One of the spaces will hold Charleston based “Basil Thai Restaurant.” If Charleston’s version is any indication, Uptown Charlotte patrons are in for a real treat. In Charleston, Basil Thai Restaurant has won numerous awards.
The second tenant to occupy space in the retail level of the Avenue will be “Avenue Market.” It will be a small grocery store that uptown residents can pick up things like beer, wine, sandwiches, etc.

According to Doug Smith of The Charlotte Observer, Uptown Charlotte can expect a new permanent farmers market. It will be a part of the new multi-use “Center City Green” that is being developed by Spectrum Properties.
Center City Green will include a 12 story parking deck, condos, restaurant, and green market. Condos will be from 560 sq. ft. to 960 sq. ft. and priced from the $180,000’s to the $280,000’s. The green market will most likely be a year round market that includes fresh dairy, meats, fish, and vegetables sold by local vendors.
