The Uptown Charlotte “Holiday on Ice” rink is finally being constructed! Each year the rink is up for a couple of months during the holiday season. This year, it will be open from November 26th to January 10th. Skate rental is $3 and admission is $7. For those not familiar with the location, its at the Green adjacent to The Ratcliffe and across the street from The Charlotte Convention Center.

Back in July, I updated everyone about the start of construction of Center City Green. Well, they are definitely making progress now. In this picture, taken at the end of this past week, you can see the progress being made at the site.

As Epicentre continues to open more of its commercial space, it prepares to open a new restaurant. Mez, is located near the back of Epicentre on the top floor. Scheduled to open December 12th, Mez is attached to the luxury movie theatre in Epicentre which is also scheduled to open the same day.

Epicentre’s theater will feature large luxury seating as well as loveseats on its top row. After 7 p.m., alcoholic beverages will be permitted and patrons will be need to be above 21 years old. Details on showtimes and the theater can be found here: Epicentre Theaters.

With Thanksgiving only a week away, the holiday decorations are being set up in Uptown Charlotte. Lights, greenery, and even large ornaments! This picture was taken in the Wachovia Plaza as workers set up large ornaments to help everyone get in the spirit of the season.
