Open house in Myers Park (Sunday, June 1st)

Would you like to live in the heart of Myers Park, only minutes from Uptown Charlotte, in a home with a ton of character? Take a look at 2736 Picardy Place this Sunday, June 1st from 3 to 5 during our open house. The pictures of this home definitely don’t do it justice. While many of the homes in Myers Park have been renovated and lost the charm of the period they were built in, 2736 Picardy Place definitely has the modern updates you would expect, without losing the neat features characteristic of a 1940’s built home. Priced modestly at $849,000.

Bonsai, flowers, and potted plants all close to Uptown Charlotte

Campbell's Greenhouse & Nursery in Dilworth

Whether you are in a condo, townhome, or even home in Uptown Charlotte or one of the many neighborhoods close to Uptown, chances are that you don’t have much space for plants or gardening. Enter Campbell’s Greenhouse & Nursery in the heart of Southend/Dilworth. Its located at 209 McDonald Avenue. While they do have a large and diverse selection of bonsai plants and orchids, they also have a wide range of potted flowers to help brighten the darkest patios and porches! Adding colorful flowers is one of the best ways to make your home more inviting whether or not it is for sale.

My mom took me to Campbell’s as a kid to help her pick up flowers for our house in Plaza Midwood. It hasn’t changed much over the years, but that is definitely a good thing.

Awesome farmer’s market close to Uptown

Kings Drive Farmers Market

A couple days ago I wrote about Uptown Charlotte’s “Green Market” and it opening for the season. Well, yesterday I visited another market close to town that is about four times the size of the market in Uptown Charlotte. This is one of the largest close to Uptown and people visit it from Dilworth, Uptown, Myers Park, Elizabeth, Chantilly, and other surrounding neighborhoods.

As with the market in Uptown Charlotte, the Kings Drive Farmers Market sells all sorts of produce, fresh cut flowers, and seafood. It also sells potted plants for those with a “green thumb!”

If you would like to visit The Kings Drive Farmers Market, it’s open all day on Tuesday, Friday and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. My suggestion would be to go early if you go on Saturday though because all of the surrounding parking lots were full by 10 a.m. You can find a map of the location here, but if you are familiar with the new Metropolitan development, the farmers market is just down Kings Drive from there.

First pictures of inside The VUE

This past Thursday evening, I attended a V.I.P. Hard Hat Realtor tour in The Vue. I was one of only about six Realtors that got this special preview. It was a lot of fun to get to go up in the construction elevator and walk through The Vue, even if we were only four stories up! The pictures above are of the building in its current state and also of the model home unit that I toured. Here are some quick details on the only currently completed model home (residence #401):

  • $1,400,000
  • 2756 Square Feet
  • 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths
  • Thermador Appliances
  • Sub Zero Wine Refrigerator
  • Granite Kitchen Countertops
  • 4 Inch Wide Plank Hardwood Flooring in living spaces
  • Private garage that opens directly into the home
  • Even though the building is still under construction, Allen Owens of The Lavish Palm Designs has done a terrific job of making the model home feel like a real home. I’m excited to see what Allen does with the remaining model homes and common space, which he will also be designing.

Open house in Third Ward (5/9/09 from 3 to 5 p.m.)

I’ll be holding an open house tomorrow at my newest listing in Third Ward from 3 to 5 p.m. Its located at 222 S. Clarkson St. Priced at $295,000, its a great deal considering both the amount of space you get, and also the close proximity to Gateway Village, Bank of America Stadium, and all the restaurants, bars, and activities in Uptown Charlotte. If you are looking for at least three bedrooms in Uptown Charlotte, with a skyline view for under $300K, this is a must see!

    Uptown Charlotte’s “Green Market”

    Center City Green Market

Now in it’s eleventh year, the Center City Green Market opens this Saturday for the season. Its moving from its traditional location on 7th St. to the corner of Trade & Tryon Streets. I think this is a good move because more people should be able to discover the offerings in this location. As with previous years, the market will sell fresh produce, flowers, fish, and other items.

Are you interested in going? Here are the details:

    Dates: Saturday’s from May 9 - September 5, 2009
    Time: 8 a.m to 1 p.m.
Location: Corner of Trade & Tryon, Uptown Charlotte
